ABOUT Prawn Korma RECIPE

Potato and Prawn sahi korma is an very famous and popular Bengali entree served with white rice or pulao for lunch or dinner on special occasions . This is one of the elegant Bengali Classic recipe in my mom kitchen .

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Boiled potatoes - 3 no ( cut into half )
  2. Prawns - 400 gm
  3. Fresh cream - 2 tablespoons
  4. Milk - 1 cup
  5. Rose water - 1teaspoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Sugar - 1tablespoons
  8. Onion - 2 large chopped
  9. Garlic - 12 cloves
  10. Tomato - 2 no chopped
  11. Garam masala powder - 1teaspoon
  12. Whole garam masala - 1teaspoon
  13. Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  14. Mustard oil - 4 tablespoons
  15. Chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
  16. Turmeric powder - 1teaspoon
  17. Cumin powder - 1tablespoons

Instructions

  1. IN 4 TBSP HOT MUSTARD OIL, ADD 12 GARLIC CLOVES & 2 ONIONS
  2. ADD 2 TOMATOES
  3. ADD 1 TSP TURMERIC, 1 TSP GARAM MASALA & RED CHILLI TO TASTE
  4. ADD 1 TBSP SUGAR, COOK TILL MASALA LEAVES OIL & TAKE OFF HEAT
  5. COOL & GRIND TO A PASTE
  6. FRY 6 POTATOES RUBBED WITH 1/4 TSP TURMERIC IN 2 TBSP HOT MUSTARD OIL & KEEP ASIDE
  7. FRY 1 KILO PRAWNS RUBBED WITH 1 TSP SALT & 1/4 TSP TURMERIC SEPERATELY
  8. ADD 1 TSP WHOLE GARAM MASALA IN 1 TBSP HOT MUSTARD OIL
  9. ADD GROUND MASALA PASTE
  10. ADD THE FRIED POTATOES, PRAWNS & 1 CUP MILK
  11. SIMMER FOR 10 MINS, ADD 2 TBSP FRESH CREAM, TAKE OFF HEAT & SERVE
