ABOUT Potato Au Gratin RECIPE

Potatoes Au Gratin is an Indianised Au Gratin with paneer and mild Indian spices.. It has been inspired from 'Alu Gauranga' from the book 'Vegetarian Cooking' by Adiraja Dasa...This golden layered potato dish is a 'No Onion No garlic' recipe..Best suited for Vrat meals..Very easy to prepare and goes well with any kind of roti or rice..It can be served as a snack also..

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. potatoes - 5, medium sized
  2. paneer - 250 g, crumbled
  3. Fresh cream - 1/4 cup, homemade preferably
  4. Curd/Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  5. butter - 2 tbsn
  6. Milk powder - 2 tbsp
  7. Dhaniya powder - 3/4 tbsp
  8. pepper powder - 1 tsp
  9. hing - 1/4 tsp
  10. haldi - a pinch
  11. Kashmiri red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  12. salt to taste
  13. Fresh dhaniya leaves - 2 tbsp, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. ARRANGE sliced POTATOES in greased baking dish
  2. SPRINKLE CRUMBLED COTTAGE CHEESE
  3. SPRINKLE 1/2 OF FRESH CORIANDER-SPICE MIX
  4. LAYER HALF OF CURD- CREAM MIX
  5. DOT WITH MELTED BUTTER
  6. SPRINKLE 2 TBSP MILK POWDER
  7. BAKE AT 200°C FOR 45 MINS
  8. Serve hot
