Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Urad dal 200 grams washed and soaked
  2. Sugar 150 grams
  3. Cardamoms 4-6
  4. Cardamom powder 1 tablespoon
  5. Desi ghee 175 grams +2 teaspoon
  6. Saffron threads 10-12 soaked in 1 tbsp warm water.

Instructions

  1. First of all get your urad dal soaked for 2 hrs and then ground semi smooth in a food processor.
  2. Heat ghee in a kadai and add cardamoms to it.
  3. Add ground dal to the ghee .
  4. Keep stiring till it leaves ghee from sides and becomes pinkish brown in colour.
  5. Add sugar and mix properly.
  6. As sugar dissolves completely , add soaked safforn water to it.
  7. Keep stiring till it reaches to thick consistency.
  8. Grease a plate ( edged) with remaining ghee.
  9. Pour dal mixture over the plate .
  10. Make smooth surface by a spoon or spatula.
  11. Garnish with crushed cashews and almonds.
