Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Mava (Khoya) 600 grams
  2. Rava (Semolina) 1/4 cup
  3. Maida (All purpose flour) 500 grams
  4. Sugar 300 grams
  5. Chopped dry fruits 1/4 cup
  6. Desi ghee 1/2 cup
  7. Ghee for frying 1 cup oil + 1 cup
  8. Cardamom powder 1 tablespoon
  9. Water as required


  1. Roast 1/2 cup semolina on medium heat till golden brown
  2. Heat the mawa on medium heat
  3. Cook till it become light brown
  4. In other pan add 1 tablespoon ghee
  5. Roast chopped dry fruits
  6. Remove all the ingredients to a big thali
  7. Once maws is cool add 300 grams sugar powder
  8. Mix well
  9. Add 1 tablespoon cardamom powder and mix well
  10. Add 500 grams all purpose flour
  11. Add 1/2 cup ghee
  12. Rub ghee into flour using your fingertips
  13. Start adding little water at a time, knead into stiff and smooth dough
  14. Cover it and let it rest for 5 minutes
  15. Divide it into equal portion
  16. Roll into a circle
  17. Apply little water around the edges
  18. Put the stuffing in center and fold it into half circle and seal it well
  19. Make a design by pinching and twisting all along the sealed edges
  20. Fry as many gujhiyas as fit in comfortably
  21. Turn them and fry till golden brown on medium heat
  22. Once it is crisp and golden brown remove it... Ready..!!
