ABOUT Stuffed dahi vada RECIPE

Stuffed dahi vada are fluffy golden coloured vadas might tasty good as such, but they even better when made into tongue - tickling Dahi Vadas. Soak the vadas in water two make them softer, drown them in sweetened curds and serve with a drizling of sweet chutney and a sprinckling of spice powders. If you wish, you can garnish the dahi vadas more elaborately with sev or south Indian mixture.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Urad dal 1 cup
  2. Coconut grated 1/4 cup
  3. Green coriannder leaves 4 tablespoon
  4. Curd 4 cups
  5. Chaat masala 1 teaspoon
  6. Mint powder 1 tablespoon
  7. Mango powder sweet chutney
  8. Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon
  9. Black pepper 1 teaspoon
  10. Roasted cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Black salt 1 tablespoon
  12. Oil for deep frying vada
  13. Ginger 1 inch
  14. Asafoetida 1 pinch


  1. In water add hingk
  2. Add salt
  3. Stir properly and keep it aside
  4. Soak dal in water for 5 hour. Drain the water.
  5. Grind dal coarsely add green chilli and ginger.
  6. Dal should be thick.
  7. Transfer ground dal in a bowl and add hing
  8. Add salt
  9. Whisk it well.
  10. In a bowl take curd and add sugar and beat.
  11. Grated coconut, raisins, crushed black pepper mix.

  13. Take a bowl, apply wet cloth, some mixture with your fingers make a lump.
  14. Place over the wet cloth. Top it up with some stuffing.
  15. Take some mixture flatten with fingers and cover it with another flat lump.
  16. Close the stuffing well and flatten in a round shape.
  17. Very gently separate out vada from cloth and slide it into hot oil.
  18. Fry the vada until golden brown.
  19. Crispy from both sides.
  20. Continue the same
  21. Soak all the fried vadas in water with some salt and asafoetida.
  22. Saoak 1 hour in water.
  23. Squzee out the vadas from water and place them in a plate.
  24. Pour some whisked curd,
  25. Black salt
  26. Roasted cumin Powder over it.
  27. Dahi vada are now ready.
  28. To serve, vadas as desired on a plate and pour some more curd over it.
  29. Add sweet chutney
  30. Mint powder, Chat masala, Roasted cumin powder Red chilli powder Black salt
  31. Coriander leaves chopped
  32. Tasty yummy dahi vada ready to eat.
