Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Basmati Rice 1 cup
  2. Green chillies 2
  3. Onion 3 medium size
  4. Tomatoes 2
  5. Ginger small piece
  6. Garlic
  7. Coriander leaves
  8. Mint leaves
  9. Salt 1 teaspoon
  10. 1/2 Lemon
  11. Red Chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  12. Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  13. For seasoning oil
  14. Fennel seeds 1 teaspoon
  15. Black Pepper 6
  16. Bay leaves 2
  17. Green Cardamon 3
  18. Cloves 4
  19. Cinnamon small piece
  20. Mace
  21. Star anise 1
  22. Black cardamon 1 optional

Instructions

  1. Rinse and soak 1 cup basmati rice for 30 minutes
  2. Take required spices
  3. Crush ginger and garlic
  4. Heat oil. Add spices
  5. Saute onion. Caramelize it on low flame
  6. Add green chillies and crushed ginger garlic
  7. Saute chopped tomatoes
  8. Add salt, garam masala and red chilli powder
  9. Add mint and coriander leaves
  10. Add rice and 2 cups of water
  11. Close a lid and cook on low flame for 10 minutes
  12. Add lemon juice before serving
