It is healthy way of preparing greens. No sauteing or no chopping. When you saute or chop green leaves it may lose some fiber and minerals. I always prefer no saute no chop greens and pressure cook with dal to get maximum benefits.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ponnaganni green leaves / copper leaves 1 bunch
  2. Tuvr dal 1/4 cup
  3. Moong dal 1/4 cup
  4. Channa dal 1 tbsp
  5. Garlic 8 pods
  6. Shallots / Sambar onion 8
  7. Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Salt 2 tsp
  9. Coriander leaves handful
  10. Coconut optional
  11. For seasoning coconut oil 2 tsp
  12. Mustard as required
  13. urad dal 1 tsp
  14. Green chillies 2
  15. curry leaves 8-10

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1/4 CUP TUVR DAL, MOONG DAL AND 1 TBSP CHANNA DAL
  2. RINSE AND BOIL THEM WITH 8 GARLIC PODS
  3. ADD COPPER LEAVES
  4. ADD SHALLOTS
  5. ADD TURMERIC POWDER AND SALT
  6. MIX WELL AND PRESSURE COOK FOR 3 WHISTLES
  7. ADD SEASONING AND CORIANDER LEAVES. BOIL FOR 5 MINS. YOU CAN ALSO ADD GRATED COCONUT TO MAKE A RICH DAL
