Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cups yellow moong dal
  2. 1/2 cup rice flour
  3. 1/2 cup capsicum finely chopped
  4. 1/2 cup carrot finely chopped or grated
  5. 1 big tomato finely chopped
  6. 2 green chili finely chopped
  7. 1 large onion finely chopped
  8. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  9. Salt as per taste
  10. Water as required
  11. 3-4 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. WASH AND SOAK 2 CUPS MOONG LENTILS IN WATER FOR 3-4 HOURS. DRAIN EXCESS WATER
  2. GRIND DAL WITH ADEQUATE WATER TO MAKE A FINE PASTE.
  3. POUR THE BATTER IN A BOWL AND REST IT ASIDE FOR 1/2 HOUR
  4. ADD 1/2 CUP RICE FLOUR, 1 FINELY CHOPPED ONION, 2 FINELY CHOPPED GREEN CHILI, 1/2 FINELY CHOPPED CAPSICUM
  5. ADD 1 LARGE TOMATO CHOPPED
  6. ADD 1/2 CUP FINELY CHOPPED CARROT
  7. ADD 1 TSP FINELY CHOPPED GINGER, 1/2 TSP TURMERIC
  8. ADD SALT
  9. MIX WELL, BATTER SHOULD BE SLIGHTLY THICKER THAN DOSA BATTER
  10. HEAT A NONSTICK FRY PAN AND GREASE WITH 1 TSP OIL
  11. POUR ONE LADLE OF BATTER AND SPREAD IT EVENLY IN A CIRCULAR MOTION
  12. COOK OVER LOW FLAME FOR 2-3 MINUTES AND FLIP OVER
  13. DRIZZLE SOME OIL ON TOP AND TOWARDS THE EDGES 
  14. COOK OVER LOW FLAME FOR 2-3 MINUTES
  15. COOK CHEELA UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ON BOTH SIDES
  16. SERVE HOT
