ABOUT Diet Chivda RECIPE

This chivda is been prepared from bhajka poha which is easily available in the market. It is dry roasted and used for making chivda in many places.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Bhajka poha - 2 1/2 cup (readily available in market)
  2. Roasted peanuts - 3tbsp
  3. Roasted chana Dal or dalia - 2tbsp
  4. Green chili - 2 cut into long pieces
  5. Curry leaves - 4-5
  6. Mustard seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  7. cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  8. turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  9. coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Fine sugar - 1/2 tbsp
  12. Shev - 1/2 cup
  13. oil - 1 tbsp for poha + 1/2 tbsp for tempering
  14. salt to taste.

Instructions

  1. TAKE 2 .5 CUPS BHAJKA POHA OR DRY ROASTED POHA
  2. ADD 1 TSP TURMERIC POWDER & POHA IN 1 TBSP HOT OIL
  3. MIX GENTLY TILL POHA TURNS PALE YELLOW
  4. ADD SALT, 1/2 TSP CHAT MASALA, STIR & COOK FOR 2-3 MINS, TAKE OFF HEAT
  5. ADD 2 SLIT GREEN CHILLIES, 4-5 CURRY LEAVES IN 1/2 TSP HOT OIL, SIZZLE, TAKE OF HEAT
  6. ADD 1/4 TSP EACH OF MUSTARD & CUMIN SEEDS, 2 TBSP ROASTED SPLIT CHANA DAL
  7. ADD 3 TBSP ROASTED PEANUTS, 1/2 TSP EACH OF CUMIN & CORIANDER POWDER
  8. ADD THE TEMPERED & ROASTED TADKA INTO THE ROASTED POHA
  9. ADD 1/2 TBSP FINE SUGAR & 1/2 CUP SEV, MIX
