ABOUT Baby spinach pulav RECIPE

Healthy and nutritious pulav made with tender baby spinach and mildly flavoured with whole spices. Kids would love it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. rice - 2 cups
  2. Baby spinach - 400 gms
  3. Tomatoe-1
  4. onions - 3
  5. garlic - 3 tbsps
  6. ginger - 2 tbsps
  7. water - 5 cups
  8. salt to taste
  9. Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  10. turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  11. oil - 1 tbsp
  12. ghee - 1 tbsp
  13. Whole spices :
  14. cinnamon - 2 sticks
  15. Cardamon - 3
  16. cloves - 3
  17. Black pepper - 7 to 8
  18. Red chillies - 2
  19. Green chillies - 2

Instructions

  1. ADD A TBSP OF OIL AND GHEE EACH
  2. ADD SPICES: CINNAMON STICKS, CARDAMON, BLACK PEPPER, RED CHILLIES, CLOVES SAUTE
  3. ADD GREEN CHILLIES, GINGER, GARLIC SAUTE
  4. ADD SLICED ONIONS SAUTE TILL COOKED AND BROWNED
  5. WASH AND KEEP BABY SPINACH READY. CHOP ROUGHLY
  6. ADD AND COOK TILL WILTED
  7. NOW ADD CHOPPED TOMATOE
  8. ADD TURMERIC AND RED CHILLI POWDER
  9. ADD SALT COOK TILL TOMATOES TURN MUSHY
  10. THIS IS DONE
  11. NOW ADD RICE MIX WELL
  12. ADD REQUIRED WATER
  13. LET IT COME TO A BOIL CHECK FOR SEASONING ADD JUICE OF HALF A LEMON MIX COVER, COOK FOR 20 MINUTES
  14. SEE THE BEAUTY WHEN UNCOVERED! LOVELY COOKED SPINACH PULAV! FLUFF AND SERVE HOT
