ABOUT SPICY MASALA PANCAKE RECIPE

Spicy masala pancake is infused with Indian masalas to pancake mix.South Indian potato masal is used as a spread for this pancake.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For potato masal
  2. Boiled mashed potatoes 4
  3. green chillies 3
  4. Ginger 1/2inch
  5. Coriander leaves fistful
  6. Oil 2 teaspoon
  7. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  8. Urad dhal 1 teaspoon
  9. Channa dhal 1 teaspoon
  10. Lemon 1/2
  11. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Salt to taste
  13. For spicy pancakes
  14. Pancake mix 1 cup
  15. Sambhar powder 1 teaspoon
  16. Idli chilli powder 1teaspoon
  17. Cummin powder 1/2 teaspoon
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Water 1 cup
  20. Oil 3 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. HEAT 2 TSP OF OIL. ADD 1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS, 1 TSP URAD DAL & 1 TSP CHANA DAL. LET IT SPLUTTER.
  2. ADD 1/2 CUP CHOPPED ONION, 1/2 TSP GINGER, 1/2 TSP GREEN CHILLI AND 5-6 CURRY LEAVES. SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES.
  3. ADD 4 BOILED MASHED POTATOES MIXED WITH 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER & SALT TO TASTE.
  4. MIX WELL. SQUEEZE 1/2 LEMON INTO THE POTATO MIXTURE.
  5. ADD 1 CUP FLOUR, 1 TSP IDLI CHILLI POWDER, 1/2 TSP CUMIN POWDER & 1 CUP WATER. MIX WELL.
  6. PANCAKE BATTER IS READY.
  7. HEAT PAN. POUR 2 LADLES OF THE BATTER & SPREAD LIKE A DOSA.
  8. SPRINKLE OIL. COOK WELL.
  9. FLIP BOTH SIDES TILL IT'S DONE.
  10. SPREAD POTATO MIXTURE EVENLY OVER THE PANCAKE. SPRINKLE CHOPPED CORIANDER ON TOP.
  11. FOLD LIKE A DOSA.
  12. TRANSFER TO A SERVING DISH.
  13. ADD A DOLLOP OF GHEE. & GARNISH WITH CORIANDER LEAVES. SERVE HOT WITH PICKLE OR TOMATO SAUCE.
