Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Cooked dal water 1 cup
  2. Tomato blend coarse 2
  3. Tamarind water 1 cup
  4. Jeera and pepper powder 1tsp
  5. Garlic cloves 2
  6. Coriander handful
  7. Rasam powder 2tsp
  8. Mustard seed 1/4tsp
  9. Asofedita1/4 tsp
  10. Red chilli 2


  1. Mix the dal water along with the tomatoes in a saucepan, heat it.
  2. Add the jeera [cumin] and pepper powder as well rasam powder and salt into the cooking mix.
  3. Now add the tamarind water as well. Keep boiling until the tomatoes are done.
  4. Heat another pan with some ghee, add asafoetida, mustard seeds , dry red chillies and let them splutter.
  5. Then add the sliced garlic cloves and let them cook for few seconds, add this tempering to the rasam, add chopped coriander leaves into it. Switch off the flame and leave it aside for sometime. Serve with some hot rice.
