Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For khichdi
  2. Rava 2 cups
  3. Onion 2 medium
  4. Ginger small piece
  5. Carrot chopped 1
  6. Beans chopped 10
  7. Potato chopped 1
  8. Capsicum 1
  9. Peas 1/4 cup
  10. Tomato 1
  11. Salt
  12. Water 6 cups
  13. For Seasoning
  14. oil 2 tbsp
  15. Mustard
  16. Channa dal 1 tbsp
  17. jeera 1/2 tsp
  18. curry leaves
  19. Green chillies 2-3
  20. Red chillies 2-3
  21. Coriander leaves for garnish
  22. For Chutney
  23. Coconut 1/2 shell
  24. Green chillies 2
  25. Fried gram 2 tbsp
  26. Ginger small piece
  27. Salt
  28. Hing

Instructions

  1. DRY ROAST RAVA FOR 3-5 MINS TILL YOU GET GOOD AROMA. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP IN ANY UPMA RECIPE. DRY ROAST RAVA INCREASES THE FLAVOUR OF UPMA. GIVES THE RESTAURANT STYLE TASTE
  2. ADD OIL. ADD MUSTARD. WHEN IT CRACKS ADD 1 TBSP CHANNA DAL, 1/2 TSP JEERA AND 2 RED CHILLIES
  3. ADD 2 GREEN CHILLIES AMD CURRRY LEAVES
  4. ADD ONION. SAUTE
  5. ADD CHOPPED CARROT, BEANS POTATO, CAPSICUM AND PEAS
  6. ADD CHOPPED TOMATOES AND CORIANDER LEAVES
  7. ADD 2 TSP SALT AND 6 CUPS OF WATER. BOIL THE MIXTURE
  8. ADD ROASTED RAVA AND MIX WITHOUT LUMPS. COOK ON LOW FLAME FOR 5 MINS. CLOSE WITH A LID AND REST FOR 5 MINS
  9. FOR CHUTNEY ADD 1/2 SHELL COCONUT PIECES, GINGER AND GREEN CHILLI IN BLENDER
  10. ADD 2 TBSP FRIED GRAM, SALT AND HING. BLEND TO SMOOTH PASTE ADDING WATER
