Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For filling :. 10-12 almonds
  2. 1/2 teaspoon saunf/anise/fennel seeds
  3. A tiny pinch of Salt
  4. 1+1/2 tablespoons of gulkand ( rose petal jam)
  5. For the outer green cover : ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
  6. ¼ cup sweetened shredded coloured coconut
  7. 2 drops of green food coloring(optional)
  8. A tiny pinch of Salt
  9. 3 big sized, fresh betel leaves, washed and dried
  10. Vanilla icecream to serve with

Instructions

  1. TOAST 10 -12 ALMONDS IN A PAN ON THE STOVE ON MEDIUM HEAT.
  2. ADD 1/2 TSP ANISE SEED/ SAUNF ALONG WITH ALMONDS. TOAST IT UNTIL FRAGRANT. 
  3. IN A DRY GRINDER PULSE THE ALMONDS AND ANISE SEED TOGETHER UNTIL POWDERED. REMOVE IN A BOWL.
  4. ADD A PINCH OF SALT , 1+1/2 TABLESPOONS OF GULKAND AND MIX TOGETHER.
  5. DIVIDE MIXTURE IN EQUAL PARTS AND ROLL INTO BALLS. SET ASIDE IN REFRIGERATOR. THIS IS FOR FILLING.
  6. TAKE 3 BIG SIZED, FRESH BETEL LEAVES, WASHED AND DRIED. ALONG WITH IT TAKE ¼ CUP SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK, ¼ CUP SWEETENED SHREDDED COLOURED COCONUT, 2 DROPS OF GREEN FOOD COLORING(OPTIONAL) AND A TINY PINCH OF SALT
  7. IN A MICROWAVE SAFE BOWL MIX ALL MENTIONED INGREDIENTS PROPERLY EXCEPT BEETEL LEAVES
  8. MICROWAVE ON HIGH FOR 30 SECONDS. STIR AND MICROWAVE AGAIN FOR 30 MORE SECONDS OR UNTIL THE MIXTURE THICKENS AND LEAVES THE SIDES OF THE BOWL.
  9. CUT THE 3 BETEL LEAVES/PAAN LEAVES INTO THIN STRIPS/CHIFFONADE AND COMBINE THEM WITH THE CONDENSED MILK MIXTURE. THIS IS FOR OUTER COVER
  10. DIVIDE IT INTO EQUAL PARTS. TAKE ONE PART OF THE GREEN MIXTURE AND FLATTEN IT LIKE A DISC, IN YOUR HANDS USING GHEE, IF NEEDED, TO GREASE YOUR PALMS.
  11. PUT GULKAND MIXTURE BALL(FILLING) IN THE CENTER AND COVER IT BRINGING THE SIDES OF THE FLATTENED GREEN MIXTURE DISC AROUND IT.
  12. ROLL IN THE DRIED, SWEETENED, COLOURED COCONUT AND SET THE TRUFFLE ASIDE.
  13. REPEAT WITH OTHER PARTS.
  14. REFRIGERATE TRUFFLES TO COOL.
  15. Serve with vanilla icecream
