Amaranth leaves are rich source of calcium and iron. Sasive means mustard seeds. This is one of the authentic preparation of malnadu area. For this we can use any veggies, here me tried in amaranth leaves.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. amaranth leaves chopped 2 cup
  2. Grated coconut 1 cup
  3. Chopped onion 1/4 cup
  4. buttermilk 2 cup
  5. salt 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  7. Green chilli 1
  8. For seasoning...
  9. 1 red chilli
  10. 1/2 tsp cooking oil
  11. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

Instructions

  1. CLEAN, WASH AND CHOP FINELY THE AMARANTH LEAVES.
  2. STIR FRY WITHOUT OIL
  3. FRY TILL TENDER
  4. ADD COCONUT AND ONION IN MIXIE
  5. ADD SALT AND SOME buttermilk.
  6. MUSTARD SEEDS AND GREEN CHILLI
  7. Grind SMOOTHLY
  8. POUR INTO SPINACH
  9. DO THE SEASONING BY HEATING OIL, CHILLI AND MUSTARD SEEDS
  10. AFTER STOPPING THE CRACKLE SOUND ADD INTO TAMBULI, add the remaining buttermilk, mix WELL AND SERVE.
