Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. For Idli
  2. Rawa 1+1/2 cup
  3. Oats powder 1/2 cup
  4. buttermilk 2+1/2 cup
  5. salt 1 tesp
  6. Eno salt 1+1/2 tesp
  7. For sambhar
  8. Chopped mix vegetables 2 cups
  9. Pigeon pea 1/2 cup
  10. tamarind pulp 2 tbsp
  11. coriander powder 1 tesp
  12. turmeric powder 1/2+1/4 tesp
  13. Garam masala 1/2 tesp
  14. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  15. asafoetida 1/4 tesp
  16. tomatoes 2 big
  17. 1+1/2 tesp salt
  18. oil 2 tbsp
  19. cumin seeds 1*2 tesp
  20. Mustard seeds 1*2 tesp
  21. Curry leaves 1 sprig

Instructions

  1. MIX 1.5 CUPS SEMOLINA, 1/2 CUP OATS POWDER & 2.5 CUPS BUTTERMILK
  2. MAKE A SMOOTH, THICK BATTER
  3. REST THE BATTER FOR 15 MINS
  4. ADD 1 TSP SALT, 1.5 TSP ENO & 2 TBSP WATER
  5. MIX WELL
  6. FILL THE BATTER IN MICROWAVE SAFE MINI IDLI MOULDS
  7. MICROWAVE ON HIGH FOR 3 MINS
  8. IDLIS ARE READY
  9. KEEP STEAMED IDLIS ASIDE IN A CASSEROLE
  10. TAKE 2 CUPS FINELY CHOPPED VEGGIES OF CHOICE
  11. PUT THE VEGGIES IN A PRESSURE COOKER
  12. ADD 1/2 CUP ARHAR DAL
  13. ADD 2 CUPS OF WATER
  14. ADD 1 TSP SALT, 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  15. COOK UPTO 1 WHISTLE
  16. NOW SIMMER FOR 15 MINS ON LOW HEAT
  17. MIX 2 TBSP TAMARIND PULP, 1 TSP CORIANDER, 1/4 TSP TURMERIC
  18. ADD 1/2 TSP EACH OF GARAM MASALA & RED CHILLI, 1 TSP GRATED GINGER
  19. ADD 2 TBSP WATER, MIX. SAMBHAR MASALA IS READY
  20. ADD 1/2 TSP EACH OF CUMIN & MUSTARD SEEDS IN 2 TBSP HOT OIL
  21. ADD FEW CURRY LEAVES
  22. ADD 1/4 CUP TOMATO PUREE
  23. ADD 1/2 TSP SALT, COOK TILL OIL LEAVES THE SIDES
  24. ADD THE READY SAMBHAR MIX
  25. COOK FOR 3-4 MINS
  26. ADD THIS TADKA TO THE COOKED DAL
  27. ADD 2 CUPS WATER
  28. COVER & SIMMER FOR 15 MINS
  29. SERVE HOT
