Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 250 gms bathua
  2. 2 cups wheat flour
  3. salt to taste
  4. Ajwain 1/4 tsp
  5. Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  6. oil 1 tsp
  7. oil for deep fry.

Instructions

  1. WASH, SORT 250 GMS BATHUA LEAVES
  2. COVER & STEAM ON MEDIUM HEAT FOR 5 MINS
  3. TAKE OFF HEAT, KEEP TO COOL
  4. PLACE IN A MIXIE JAR, GRIND
  5. GRIND TO A SMOOTH PASTE LIKE THIS
  6. MIX 2 CUPS WHEAT FLOUR WITH THE BATHUA PUREE
  7. ADD 1/4 TSP EACH OF CAROM SEEDS, CHILLI POWDER
  8. ADD 1 TSP OIL, SALT TO TASTE
  9. KNEAD INTO A DOUGH
  10. MAKE A TIGHT DOUGH, KEEP ASIDE FOR 5 MINS
  11. MAKE SMALL BALLS OF DOUGH
  12. ROLL INTO POORIS
  13. GET ALL THE POORIS READY
  14. DEEP FRY THE POORIS IN HOT OIL
  15. FRY TILL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  16. FRY ALL THE POORIS
  17. SERVE HOT
