Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For the dough....
  2. 1/2 cup sooji
  3. 1/2 cup maida
  4. 1 tsp salt
  5. Lukewarm water
  6. For the dal.....
  7. 1/2 cup Moong dal
  8. 2 tbsp chana dal
  9. 1 tsp salt
  10. 1/8 tsp haldi
  11. 2 cup water
  12. 2 table spoon oil
  13. 1/2 tea spoon jeera
  14. 1 table spoon sugar
  15. 3- 4 small pieces tamarind

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1/2 CUP EACH OF SEMOLINA & FLOUR, 1 TSP SALT
  2. KNEAD INTO A DOUGH USING LUKEWARM WATER
  3. DOUGH SHOULD BE TIGHT & FIRM
  4. SHAPE INTO 10 SMALL BALLS, ROLL OUT THIN ROTIS, PRICK ALL OVER
  5. FRY IN HOT OIL FROM BOTH SIDES
  6. TAKE OFF HEAT WHEN GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  7. SOAK 2 TBSP TAMARIND IN HOT WATER FOR 2 HOURS
  8. TAKE 1/2 CUP MOONG DAL, 2 TBSP CHANA DAL, 1 TSP SALT, 1/4 TSP TURMERIC
  9. ADD 2.5 CUPS WATER, PRESSURE COOK UPTO 5-6 WHISTLES ON SLOW HEAT
  10. ADD A LITTLE WATER, WHISK
  11. MASH SOAKED TAMARIND, SEIVE & ADD TO THE DAL
  12. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD 1/2 TSP CUMIN
  13. ADD THE DAL
  14. ADD 1 TBSP SUGAR, BRING TO A BOIL, TAKE OFF HEAT
  15. Serve pakwans with chopped tomatoes, tamarind and green chutney, dahi bhalla masala. You can add chopped onion also
