Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. chickpeas 1 cup
  2. Clarified butter 2 tbsp
  3. cumin seeds 1 tesp
  4. Carrom seeds 1/2 tesp
  5. Green chilies 3
  6. onions 3
  7. tomatoes 2
  8. salt 1+1/2 tesp
  9. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  10. Garam masala 1 tesp
  11. coriander powder 1 tesp
  12. Raw mango powder 1/2 tesp
  13. Chat masala 1/2 tesp
  14. asafoetida 1/4 tesp
  15. anardana seeds 1/2 tesp
  16. ginger paste 1 tesp
  17. Kasoori methi 1 tesp
  18. Green coriander leaves 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. SOAK ONE CUP CHICKPEAS OVERNIGHT.
  2. WASH CHICKPEAS.
  3. PRESSURE COOK SOAKED CHICKPEAS WITH 3 CUPS OF WATER AND 1 TESP SALT . 1 CUP = 250 ML
  4. GIVE ONE WHISTLE AND THEN SIMMER FOR 20 MINUTES.
  5. CRACKLE CUMIN SEEDS AND CARROM SEEDS IN 2 TBSP CLARIFIED BUTTER.
  6. ADD GREEN CHILIES AND SAUTE.
  7. ADD TWO SLICED ONIONS. SAUTE.
  8. WHEN ONIONS TURN GOLDEN BROWN ADD 2 FINELY CHOPPED TOMATOES.
  9. ADD 1/2 TESP SALT AND COOK COVERED ON SIM.
  10. IN 2 TBSP WATER DISSOLVE 1/2 TESP RED CHILLI POWDER, 1 TESP GARAM MASALA, 1 TESP CORIANDER POWDER.
  11. 1/2 TESP RAW MANGO POWDER AND 1/2 TESP ANARDANA.
  12. 1/2 TESP CHAT MASALA AND 1 TESP GINGER PASTE.
  13. TOMATOES HAVE RELEASED OIL. ADD DISSOLVED SPICES.
  14. MIX.
  15. MIX 1 TESP KASOORI METHI.
  16. ADD BOILED CHICKPEAS.
  17. COOK COVERED ON SIM FOR 10 MINUTES.
  18. ADD 1 FINELY CHOPPED ONION, GREEN CORIANDER LEAVES AND LEMON JUICE.
  19. MIX AND SERVE HOT.
