Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. ghee 1 tsp
  2. peas 2 cups shelled and washed
  3. ginger 1 inch piece thinly sliced length wise
  4. 2 green chillies slit
  5. Corriender leaves chopped 1 tbsp
  6. Black pepper power 1/4 tsp
  7. turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  8. salt to taste
  9. Zeera 1 tsp
  10. hing a pinch
  11. amchur powder 1 tsp
  12. lemon juice of about half a lime squeezed on top for extra zest
  13. sugar a pinch

Instructions

  1. TAKE 2 CUPS WASHED PEAS
  2. HEAT 1 TSP GHEE, ADD 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA, 1 TSP CUMIN, 2 SLIT GREEN CHILLIES
  3. ADD 2 TSP THINLY SLICED GINGER
  4. ADD 1/4 TSP TURMERIC POWDER & THE PEAS
  5. ADD SALT TO TASTE, MIX
  6. ADD A PINCH OF SUGAR, 3-4 TBSP WATER
  7. COVER & COOK ON LOW HEAT
  8. REMOVE LID WHEN THE WATER DRIES UP
  9. SPRINKLE 1/4 TSP BLACK PEPPER
  10. ADD 1 TSP AMCHUR POWDER
  11. STIR IN THE DRY MASALAS
  12. ADD 1-2 TBSP LEMON JUICE
  13. COOK TILL THE PEAS ARE SOFT, TAKE OFF HEAT
  14. TOP WITH FRESH CORIANDER
  15. GARNISH WITH A SLICE OF LEMON
