ABOUT Butter chicken from left over chicken tikka RECIPE

A lip smacking recipe made from boneless chicken. Butter chicken is a native dish from Punjab. I made these using leftover chicken tikka.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Left over chicken tikka
  2. 2 medium onions, roughly sliced
  3. 4 medium tomatoes, roughly chopped
  4. 8-10 cashewnuts
  5. 1/4 cup sunflower seeds (optional) can replace with 2
  6. 8-10. Cloves
  7. 1 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  8. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  9. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  10. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  11. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  12. 1 teaspoon all purpose flour
  13. 1/2 cup Milk
  14. 1 teaspoon sugar
  15. Salt to taste
  16. 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
  17. 1/4 cup fresh cream
  18. 3 tablespoon butter
  19. 2 teaspoon oil

Instructions

  1. HEAT A PAN & ADD HALF THE OIL
  2. ADD 1 TBSP BUTTER & MELT IT
  3. ADD SLICED ONIONS
  4. SAUTE UNTIL TRANSLUSCENT
  5. ADD GARLIC & SUNFLOWER SEEDS
  6. SAUTE FOR A MINUTE
  7. ADD CASHEWS & SAUTE FOR 30 SECONDS
  8. ADD THE ROUGHLY CHOPPED TOMATOES
  9. COOK ON HIGH FOR 2 MINUTES
  10. ADD RED CHILLI POWDER & GARAM MASALA POWDER
  11. ADD CUMIN SEEDS, CORIANDER POWDER & TURMERIC POWDER
  12. ADD SALT. MIX WELL & SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES
  13. WHEN THE MOISTURE STARTS RELEASING, ADD 1 GLASS WATER
  14. BRING IT TO A BOIL. COVER & COOK FOR 10 MINUTES ON LOW FLAME
  15. THE BASE OF GRAVY IS ALMOST DONE
  16. ADD KASURI METHI POWDER, COVER & COOK FOR ANOTHER 2 MINUTES
  17. ALLOW THIS TO COOL & ONCE COOLED, BLEND USING A HAND BLENDER
  18. STRAIN THE GRAVY BASE
  19. NOW HEAT ANOTHER PAN. ADD BUTTER
  20. ADD THE FLOUR & SAUTE FOR A MINUTE
  21. WHEN THE MAIDA IS WELL ROASTED, ADD MILK. COOK UNTIL IT BECOMES THICK
  22. ADD THE TOMATO GRAVY MIX
  23. BRING IT TO A BOIL, THEN ADD SUGAR & FRESH CREAM
  24. MIX WELL & COOK FOR 2-3 MINUTES
  25. NOW ADD THE LEFT OVER CHICKEN TIKKAS. (SHRED IT IF YOU WANT)
  26. SIMMER FOR ANOTHER 5 MINUTES
