Bitter gourds are very healthy especially for the diabetic people, so here is a quick recipe of bitter gourd curry made with milk as the gravy base, to be served with some roti or rice on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 250 grams chopped bitter ground
  2. 1 glass milk
  3. 1/2 cup fresh cream
  4. 1 tsp coriander powder
  5. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  7. 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  8. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  9. Pinch of esafoetida
  10. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  11. 1 tbs oil

Instructions

  1. RUB 1 TSP SALT ALLOVER THE BITTERGROUND AND SET ASIDE FOR HALF AN HOUR THEN WASH THROUGHOUTLY AND SQUEEZ DRY.
  2. ADD 1 TBS OIL IN A PAN
  3. ADD 1/2 TSP CUMIN SEEDS
  4. ADD PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA
  5. ADD 1/4 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  6. ADD 250 GRAM CHOPPED BITTER GROUND.
  7. ADD SALT AS PER TASTE
  8. COOK FOR 4-5 MINUTES
  9. ADD 1 TSP CORIANDER POWDER
  10. ADD 1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER
  11. MIX WELL
  12. ADD 1 GLASS OF MILK
  13. COOK TILL HALF MILK IS EVAPORATED
  14. ADD 1/2 CUP OF FRESH MALAI OR CREAM
  15. MIX WELL
  16. ADD 1/2TSP GARAM MASALA
  17. ADD 1/2 TSP DRY MANGO POWDER
  18. MIX WELL AND SWITCH OFF THE FLAME.
  19. SERVER HOT.
