ABOUT Moongphali Ki Chikki RECIPE

Moongfali chikki is a healthy, delicious traditional candy made from peanuts and jaggery. It can be eaten alone or with snacks and is a perfect replacement for chocolates. This recipe uses jaggery to make crisper chikkis in easier way.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup groundnut
  2. 1 cup jaggery
  3. 1 tsp ghee

Instructions

  1. ROAST 1 CUP GROUNDNUTS ON MEDIUM HEAT, STIR CONTINUOUSLY
  2. ONCE DONE, TAKE OFF HEAT, COOL FOR 5 MINS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE
  3. ROMOVE THE SKIN, KEEP ASIDE
  4. GREASE AN UPTURNED THALI & ROLLING PIN WITH GHEE
  5. HEAT 1 TSP GHEE, ADD 1 CUP JAGGERY, STIR CONTINUOUSLY ON LOW HEAT
  6. WHEN THE JAGGERY DISSOLVES, COOK FOR 5 MORE MINS
  7. CHECK IF IT'S DONE BY DROPPING A SMALL DROP IN WATER, IF IT TURNS SOLID, IT'S READY
  8. TURN OFF THE HEAT, ADD PEANUT HALVES, MIX
  9. POUR MIXTURE ON TOP OF THE GREASED THALI
  10. QUICKLY FLATTEN IT OUT
  11. ROLL THE MIXTURE WITH DEFT STROKES
  12. MARK WITH CUTS
  13. CUT INTO SQUARES LIKE THIS
  14. COOL, BREAK INTO PIECES
  15. STORE IN AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER
