Momos are steamed formed of dumplings which is stuffed with vegetables. basically, momos are the staple food of nepal, bhutan, tibet, north eastern part of india. but now widely accepted all over india

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1/2 Tsp salt
  3. 1 tbsp oil
  4. 1/4 cup milk
  5. water as required to knead dough
  6. for momos veg stuffing:
  7. 1 cup cabbage, grated
  8. 1 carrot, grated
  9. 1 capsicum chopped
  10. salt to taste
  11. 3/4 tsp green chilli paste
  12. 1/4 tsp soy sauce
  13. 1 tsp vinegar
  14. 2 tbsp coriander leaf, chopped

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 CUP FLOUR, 1/2 TSP SALT
  2. ADD 1/4 CUP MILK, MIX WELL
  3. ADD SOME WATER SLOWLY, KNEAD INTO A DOUGH
  4. ADD 1 TBSP OIL, KNEAD FOR 5 MINS TILL FIRM & SMOOTH
  5. COVER & LEAVE TO REST FOR 20 MINS
  6. DIVIDE THE DOUGH INTO SMALL PORTIONS
  7. DUST WITH DRY FLOUR
  8. ROLL INTO THIN CIRCLES, COVER WITH A DAMP CLOTH
  9. FOR STUFFING- MIX 1/2 TSP SALT, 1 CUP CHOPPED CABBAGE, KEEP ASIDE FOR 15 MINS
  10. SQUEEZE THE CABBAGE
  11. DISCARD THE LEFTOVER WATER
  12. ADD 1/2 CUP GRATED CARROT, 1 CHOPPED CAPSICUM
  13. ADD 1 TSP GINGER GARLIC PASTE, 3/4 TSP GREEN CHILLI PASTE, 2 TBSP FRESH CORIANDER
  14. ADD 1 TSP VINEGAR, 1/4 TSP SOYA SAUCE, SALT
  15. MIX
  16. STUFFING IS READY
  17. PUT 1 TBSP OF STUFFING IN THE CENTRE OF THE CIRCLE, LIFT THE EDGES, PLEAT & JOIN THEM LIKE THIS
  18. POTLI SHAPED MOMO IS READY
  19. PREPARE ALL MOMOS LIKE THIS
  20. GREASE THE STEAMER CONTAINER WITH OIL 
  21. ARRANGE THE MOMOS ON IT
  22. GET THEM ALL READY TO STEAM
  23. BOIL 2 CUPS OF WATER IN THE STEAMER PAN, PLACE THE MOMOS ON IT, COOK FOR 10 MINS
  24. TAKE OFF HEAT, UNCOVER PARTIALLY, LET IT STAND FOR 2-3 MINS
  25. TRANSFER THE MOMOS INTO A SERVING PLATE
  26. MOMOS ARE READY
