ABOUT Roasted Methi Idli RECIPE

Roasted methi idli is so soft and tasty. It is not bitter. Basically added roasted methi and bansi rava to form soft idlis.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Methi 1 cup
  2. Bansi rava 2 cup
  3. Curd 1 1/2 cup
  4. Grated coconut 1 cup
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Sufficient Water
  7. Jaggery 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. DRY ROAST METHI TILL GOOD AROMA RELEASES.
  2. NOW IT IS DONE
  3. TAKE CURD
  4. SOAK FRIED METHI IN CURD FOR 3-4 HOURS
  5. ADD SOAKED METHI AND JAGGERY IN MIXER GRINDER
  6. ADD SALT AND GRATED COCONUT
  7. GRIND SMOOTHLY
  8. TRANSFER THE BATTER INTO A VESSEL
  9. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER
  10. ROAST BANSI / MEDIUM RAVA FOR 3-4 MINUTES IN MEDIUM FLAME
  11. ADD SLOWLY INTO VESSEL
  12. MIX WELL TO AVOID LUMPS
  13. IDLI BATTER IS READY, CLOSE THE LID AND LET IT BE FERMENTATION OVERNIGHT
  14. CHECK THE FERMENTATION, MIX WELL
  15. ADD ENO AND MIX WELL
  16. BRING BOIL THE WATER IN IDLI VESSEL
  17. PLACE A PLATE, GREASE OIL TO THE IDLI CUPS
  18. POUR THE BATTER INTO IDLI CUPS, ALLOW TO STEAM FOR 30-35 MINUTES ( TIME VARIES DEPENDING ON VESSEL)
  19. AFTER 5 MINUTES REST OPEN THE LID AND CHECK THE COOKNESS
  20. NOW REMOVE BY USING A SPOON
  21. UNMOULD, AND SERVE
