ABOUT Hot Pongal RECIPE

Fried yellow split lentils hot pongal gives good aroma and flavourful. It is so tasty and simple.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green gram yellow split lentils 1 cup
  2. Cooked rice 1 1/2 cup
  3. Crushed black pepper 8-10
  4. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  5. Ghee 2 1/2 tsp
  6. Water
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Cashews few
  9. For grind masala...
  10. Grated coconut 1 cup
  11. Cumin seeds 1*2 tsp
  12. Water 1 1/2 cup
  13. Turmeric powder 1/8 tsp
  14. Green chilli (optional)

Instructions

  1. CRUSHED BLACK PEPPER
  2. CUMIN SEEDS
  3. GREEN GRAM SPLIT YELLOW LENTILS
  4. FRY TILL GOLDEN COLOR
  5. TURN OFF THE FLAME
  6. TRANSFER INTO BOILING WATER
  7. LET IT COOK SMOOTHLY
  8. TAKE CUMIN SEEDS, TURMERIC POWDER AND COCONUT
  9. ADD WATER AND GRIND
  10. GRIND SMOOTHLY
  11. FINELY COOKED YELLOW LENTILS
  12. ADD COOKED RICE, LET IT BOIL
  13. HEAT GHEE
  14. FRY CASHEWS TILL GOLDEN BROWN
  15. TRANSFER THE GROUND MIXTURE
  16. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER
  17. CHECK THE BOILING
  18. TRANSFER THE BOILING RICE AND YELLOW LENTILS IN TO PAN
  19. MIX WELL AND COOK FOR 5 MORE MINUTES
  20. IT IS READY
