Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 bunch fresh clean chopped palak
  2. rice 1 cup
  3. Tuvr dal 1/2 cup
  4. FOR masala
  5. Sesame oil 2 tbsp
  6. mustard
  7. jeera 1 tsp
  8. Ripe green chillies 3
  9. curry leaves
  10. Sliced onion 1
  11. shallots 10-15
  12. tomatoes 2
  13. ginger 1 inch
  14. garlic 10-15
  15. turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  16. salt required
  17. FOR GARNISH
  18. coriander leaves
  19. ghee 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. ADD 1 CUP RAW RICE AND 1/2 CUP TUVR DAL
  2. RINSE WELL AND SOAK FOR 30 MINUTES
  3. ADD 2 TBSP SESAME OIL IN KADAI. ADD MUSTARD. ALLOW TO CRACK
  4. ADD 1 TSP JEERA
  5. ADD 1 SLICED ONION AND 10-15 SHALLOTS.SAUTE
  6. WHEN ONION TURNS LIGHT BROWN, ADD 10 GARLIC CLOVES AND CHOPPED GINGER
  7. ADD 3 RIPE GREEN CHILLIES AND CURRY LEAVES
  8. ADD 2 CHOPPED TOMATOES
  9. ADD RICE DAL STOCK, 1/2 TSP TURMERIC AND REQUIRED SALT. COOK TOMATOES
  10. WHEN TOMATOES ARE COOKED PROPERLY, ADD 1 BUNCH FRESH AND CLEAN PALAK
  11. SAUTE. MIX PALAK IN MASALA
  12. ADD SOAKED RICE AND DAL
  13. ADD REQUIRED WATER TO PRESSURE COOK
  14. ADD CORIANDER LEAVES AND PRESSURE COOK FOR 5 WHISTLES
  15. ALLOW PRESSURE TO RELEASE NATURALLY. IF RICE IS THICK, ADD LITTLE WATER
  16. ADD 1 TBSP GHEE. MIX
