ABOUT Dal Tadka RECIPE

Made this restaurant style flavourful garlic tadka daal which are spicy and delicious in taste. Serve it with roti and rice of your choice in your lunch and dinner .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Mix daal 1/2 cup
  2. Water 1 glass
  3. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  4. Salt 1/4 tsp
  5. For tadka
  6. Oil 2 tbsp
  7. Ghee 2 tbsp
  8. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  9. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  10. Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  11. Dry red chilli 2
  12. Bay leaf 1
  13. Star anise 1
  14. Cloves 2
  15. Crushed chilli, ginger, garlic 1 tbsp
  16. Grated Onion large 1
  17. Grated tomatoes 2
  18. Dry coriander seeds 1/2 tsp
  19. Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  20. Dry coriander powder 1 tbsp
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Green garlic chopped 1 tsp
  23. Coriander leaves chopped 1 tbsp
  24. For garlicky tadka :-
  25. Ghee 2 tsp
  26. Cumin seeds 1/8 tsp
  27. Dry red chilli 1
  28. Dry Garlic chopped 7 to 8
  29. Green garlic chopped 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1/2 CUP WASHED AND SOAKED MIX DAAL.
  2. IN COOKER ADD 1 GLASS OF WATER , SOAKED MIX DAAL.
  3. ADD 1/4 EACH TURMERIC POWDER AND SALT.
  4. NOW GIVE 3-4 WHISTLE THEN LET IT COOL.
  5. FOR TADKA HEAT 2 + 2 TBS OIL AND GHEE. ADD 1/2 TSP EACH CUMIN AND MUSTARD SEEDS.
  6. ADD 2 DRY CHILLI, 2 CLOVES, 1 STAR ANISE AND 1 BAYLEAF.
  7. ADD 1/2 TSP ASAFOETIDA.
  8. 1 TBSP CRUSHED CHILLI, GINGER AND GARLIC.
  9. 1 LARGE GRATED ONION AND SAUTE TILL IT TURN LITTLE BROWN.
  10. ADD 2 GRATED TOMATO.
  11. COOK FOR 5 MINUTES.
  12. ADD 1/2 TSP DRY CORIANDER. 1 TBSP KASHMIRI RED CHILLI POWDER.
  13. SALT TO TASTE.
  14. CORIANDER POWDER 1 TBSP AND MIX IT.
  15. NOW ADD DAAL MIXTURE AND BRING IT TO BOIL.
  16. ADD 1 TSP CHOPPED FRESH GREEN GARLIC AND 1 TBSP CORIANDER LEAVES.
  17. COOK FOR 3 TO 4 MINUTES THEN REMOVE FROM HEAT.
  18. ON SERVING TIME GIVE GARLICKY TADKA. ADD 2 TSP GHEE IN KADAI.
  19. ADD 1/8 TSP CUMIN SEEDS AND 2 PIECE OF RED CHILLI.
  20. ADD 7 TO 8 CHOPPED DRY GARLIC AND 1/4 TSP CHOPPED GREEN GARLIC.
  21. GIVE TADKA IN SERVING BOWL.
