Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For Sweet stuffing
  2. 1/2 cup water
  3. 1/4 cup jaggery
  4. Cardamon powder
  5. 1/2 cup Coconut grated or dessicated
  6. 8-10 badam ground
  7. For Dal stuffing
  8. 1/4 Cup Urad dal
  9. 1 tbsp Tuvr dal
  10. Red chillies 2
  11. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  12. Hing 1/4 tsp
  13. Salt
  14. For tadka
  15. 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  16. Mustard
  17. Curry leaves
  18. Coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. SOAK 1/4 CUP URAD DAL AND 1 TBSP TUVR DAL FOR 1 HR
  2. ADD IT TO BLENDER. ADD 1/4 TSP TURMERIC AND 2 RED CHILLIES
  3. ADD REQUIRED SALT AND 1/4 TSP HING. GRIND TO SMOOTH PASTE
  4. STEAM THE MIXTURE FOR 10-15 MINUTES
  5. ADD 1 TBSP OIL. ADD MUSTARD. ALLOW TO CRACK
  6. ADD CURRY LEAVES AND CORIANDER LEAVES
  7. ADD COOKED DAL CAKE AND MIX.TURN OFF FLAME
  8. COOL THE STUFFING
  9. BOIL 1/2 CUP WATER. ADD 1/4 CUP PURE ORGANIC JAGGERY
  10. ADD CARDAMON POWDER AND 1/2 CUP DESSICATED COCONUT
  11. ADD BADAM POWDER OR FRESHLY GROUND BADAM. MIX TILL THE MIXTURE THICKENS
  12. COOL THE STUFFING
  13. BOIL 1 CUP WATER. ADD REQUIRED SALT
  14. ADD 1 TSP SESAME OIL
  15. ADD 3/4 CUP RAW RICE FLOUR AND 1 TBSP SPROUTED RAGI FLOUR. MIX WITHOUT LUMPS. TURN OFF THE FLAME
  16. ADD 1 TSP OIL AND KNEAD A DOUGH
  17. REST THE DOUGH FOR 5 MINUTES
  18. SHAPE SMALL PORTIONS
  19. APPLY OIL IN YOUR HAND AND SHAPE SMALL CUPS
  20. SHAPE AS SHOWN
  21. FILL THE STUFFING
  22. SEAL THE STUFFING
  23. STEAM COOK FOR 10 MINUTES. REST FOR 10 MINUTES
  24. MODAK READY TO SERVE
