Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Soaked 1 cup moongdal
  2. Ginger 1/2 inch
  3. Green Chillies 2
  4. Oil as required
  5. Asafoetida powder 1/4 tsp
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Roasted cumin 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  9. Water 1/4 cup or as required
  10. For the topping...
  11. Fresh coriander
  12. Red chilli powder to taste
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Pav bhaji masala 2tbsp
  15. Tomatoes 1/4 cup finely chopped
  16. Onion 1/4 cup finely chopped
  17. Capcicum 1/4 cup finely chopped

Instructions

  1. SOAK 1 CUP MOONG DAL FOR 3 HRS
  2. GRIND THE DRAINED MOONG DAL ALONG WITH 2 GREEN CHILLIES, 1/2 INCH GINGER,
  3. 1 TSP ROASTED CUMIN, 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA, 1/4 TSP TURMERIC POWDER.
  4. MAKE INTO A SMOOTH PASTE.
  5. ADD SALT TO TASTE AND WATER AS REQUIRED, MAKE A SMOOTH BATTER.
  6. HEAT A NON-STICK PAN, GREASE WITH 1-2 TSP OIL.
  7. ADD A LADLE FULL OF BATTER AND COOK ON LOW - MEDIUM HEAT.
  8. WHEN IT IS HALF COOKED FROM ONE SIDE, SPRINKLE 1/2 TSP EACH OF TOMATOES, ONION, CAPCICUM ON TOP,
  9. ADD 1 TBSP FRESH CORIANDER, SPRINKLE SALT TO TASTE & 1 /2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER
  10. SPRINKLE 1/2 TSP PAV BHAJI MASALA
  11. ADD 1 TSP GHEE, COOK FOR 1 MORE MINUTE, FLIP THE CHEELA AND COOK.
  12. PRESSING DOWN LIGHTLY. COOK UNTIL CRISP AND DONE.
  13. COOK FROM BOTH SIDES.
  14. NOW FOLD THE CHEELA.
  15. TAKE OFF HEAT.
  16. CUT INTO WEDGES,.
  17. SERVE HOT WITH KETCHUP OR CHUTNEY.
