ABOUT Chole masala RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chickpeas/ Chole Dal 2 cups soaked overnight and parboiled along with the boiled water
  2. Onions big sized roughly chopped 2
  3. Tomatoes big sized ripe 3
  4. Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  5. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Chole masala powder 2 teaspoons
  8. Aamchoor powder 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Salt
  10. Bay leaves 2
  11. Cloves 2
  12. Cardamom pods 4
  13. lime juice 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a heavy based pan. Add 2 bay leaves , 2 cloves , 4 cardamoms .
  2. Fry for a minute . Grind 2 big onions and 3 big mushy tomatoes into a smooth paste .
  3. Pour the ground mixture to the oil and sauté for 4 minutes till raw smell leaves . Add 1/2 teaspoon
  4. ginger garlic paste .Coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon.Chole masala 2 teaspoons .Aamchoor powder 1/2tsp
  5. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon . Mix all together . Add the soaked par boiled chole dal . Cover and
  6. cook for 15 minutes . The chole gets cooked well . Adjust the consistency as you prefer . Add salt.
  7. Chole masala is ready .Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon lime juice and serve .
