ABOUT Chola Dal Dhokla RECIPE

Chola dal or split cow peas dal which is hardly used in everyday cooking inspite of being so healty, full of fibre, vitamin A and proteins. The Chola dal Dhokla can serve in breakfast or branch to give healthy start up in morning with good protein.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chola dal / Split cow peas dal 1/2 cup
  2. Moong dal 1/4 cup
  3. Green chilli 1 small
  4. ginger 1 small
  5. curd 1 tbs
  6. Grated carrot 1/4 cup
  7. French beans 3 tbs
  8. capsicum 3 Tbs
  9. salt
  10. Fruit Sal 1 tsp
  11. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  12. oil 1 tbs
  13. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  14. Sesame seeds 1 tsp
  15. Chopped coriander

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1/2 CUP CHOLA DAL AND 1/4 CUP MOONG DAL.
  2. WASH IT PROPERLY AND SOAK THEM TOGETHER OVER NIGHT.
  3. DRAINED THE DAL AND ADD GREEN CHILLI AND GINGER.
  4. GRIND THEM AND MAKE FINE PASTE IN GRINDER.
  5. TAKE GRATED CARROT, CHOPPED FRENCH BEANS AND CAPSICUM.
  6. ADD VEGETABLES IN THE DAL MIXTURE ADD 1 TBS CURD. MIX THEM WELL.
  7. TURN THE GAS ON KEEP DHOKLA STEAMER READY.
  8. GREASE THE PLATE WITH OIL TO STEAM DHOKLA
  9. ADD SALT IN THE DHOKLA MIXTURE.
  10. ADD 1 TEASPOON OF FRUIT SALT IN THE DHOKLA MIXTURE AND STIR WELL TO MAKE DHOKLA SOFT.
  11. SET DHOKLA MIXTURE GREASED PLATE. SPRINKLE RED CHILLI POWDER FOR DECORATION AND TASTE.
  12. STEAM DHOKLA IN THE STEAMER FOR 10 MINUTES
  13. REMOVE THE DHOKLA AFTER 10 MINUTES AND GIVE TADKA OF OIL MUSTARD SEED AND SESAME SEEDS.
