ABOUT Exotic chicken momos! RECIPE

This is an innovative recipe containing delicious momos fried in an exotic batter. With side dish of juicy chicken, this is a perfect restaurant style delicacy!

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For the momo dough :
  2. 1 large cup refined maida
  3. 1.5 tbsp sunflower oil
  4. 1 tsp Salt
  5. 2 tsp black pepper powder
  6. Water as required
  7. For the filling ;
  8. Boneless chicken (about 250 gm)
  9. 1.5 cup coriander leaves
  10. 2 Chopped Green chillies
  11. 1 medium onion chopped
  12. 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  13. 2 tsp sunflower oil
  14. For the exotic coating ;
  15. 1 cup dahi [yoghurt]
  16. 1 onion chopped
  17. 1 inch chopped ginger
  18. 3-4 chopped garlic cloves
  19. 2 tsp garam masala
  20. 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  21. 1 tsp chaat masala
  22. 1 cup coriander leaves
  23. 1 TBSP KASURI METHI
  24. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. For the dough, mix the oil, maida, pepper and salt properly.
  2. Slowly add the water and mix with hand to make a rigid dough of medium consistency.
  3. For the chicken filling, combine all the ingredients mentioned in a mixi. Ensure that the mixture is not very smooth and has solid chicken lumps.
  4. Divide the dough into small balls. Roll the balls into thin circular sheets. Each momo sheet should have an approx radius of 4 cm
  5. Keep some of the chicken aside. This will be used to prepare a minced chicken side-dish. You can skip the side-dish.
  6. Fill the momo sheets with the chicken filling. Seal them and give them their desired shape.
  7. Prepare a steamer and steam the momos for about 15 mins on medium flame.
  8. Meanwhile, combine all the ingredients for the exotic coating in a mixi. Blend to a fine paste.
  9. Take out the steamed momos, coat them with the paste and deep fry them. Keep about 2 tbsp batter aside.
  10. In the residual oil, add the remaining chicken and batter. Fry them properly.
  11. Your exotic momos are ready! Serve them with the chicken mince. Garnish with coriander sprigs. Enjoy!
