It's a snack recipe which is full of veggies so that kids could get some nutrients even when they are playing. This recipe is a good starter for kids'party and suitable for tiffin also.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Poha(flatten rice) 2 cup
  2. Curd 1 cup
  3. Finely chopped onion 1/2 cup
  4. Finely chopped cualiflower 1/4 cup
  5. Finely Chopped capsicum 1/2 cup
  6. Chopped green chilli 1
  7. Chopped Coriander leaves 1 teaspoon
  8. Gram flour 1 tablespoon
  9. Semolina 3 teaspoon
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Red chilli powder to taste
  12. Oil 2 teaspoon + for greasing
  13. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  14. Curry leaves 5-6
  15. Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Soak poha in a bowl with one glass of water. Mix slightly and leave it for 10 minutes.
  2. After 10 minutes,grind the soaked poha with needed water. Poha batter should be thick. Pour in a bowl.
  3. Now,add in curd,all the veggies,salt and chilli powder and mix it well.
  4. Prepare the tempering. Heat oil and add in mustard seeds. When spulter add in curry leaves. Mix this tempering to the poha batter.
  5. Add in gram flour and semolina. Mix well.
  6. Heat the appam pan and grease it with oil. Pour a ladlefull of batter into each cavity.
  7. Cover it and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame. Check in between.
  8. Flip the appe upside down if downside is light brown.
  9. Cover and cook again for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Check after. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato sauce.
