About Qutayef Recipe

Qutayef is like mini pancakes filled with goodies. These desserts are specially served during the holy month of Ramadan in the middle east.


Ingredients to make Qutayef

  • For filling:-
  • 1 litre milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup mashed paneer
  • 1tsp corn flour
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom Powder
  • few drops of rose essence
  • For pancakes:-
  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp butter/ ghee
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp semolina
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 Cup water
  • Chopped pistachio for garnish

How to make Qutayef

  1. On medium flame in a wok,heat milk.
  2. Add chenna/ mashed paneer, sugar, corn flour.
  3. Mix it well and let be simmer it till we get thick consistency.
  4. Add cardamom powder and few drops of rose essence.
  5. Making pancakes:-
  6. In a bowl mix wheat flour with semolina, sugar, baking powder.
  7. Add water and mix it. consistency will be semi liquid type.
  8. On medium flame heat non stick griddle.
  9. Apply ghee on griddle /tava.
  10. Now spread 1full ladle of wheat flour batter Cook it from both sides.
  11. Assembling:-
  12. Take one pancake, fold it from one side and give a shape like cone.
  13. Fill the filling mixture in the pancake cone.
  14. Garnish with some chopped pistachio.
  15. Serve these Delicious Qutayef on the special occasion - Ramadan.
