ABOUT Kinnathapam RECIPE

Kinnathapam is one of the traditional desserts of South India, that takes place on all special occasions. Kinnam means plate and appam means cake. Since this is prepared using a plate its called as kinnathapam. This jiggly wiggly soft sweet cakes is a perfect treat for all ages.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 2 cups white rice
  2. 4 1/2 cups sugar or as needed
  3. 4 eggs
  4. 8 cardamom pods
  5. 3 1 / 2 cups thick coconut milk
  6. 3 1/2 cups thin coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Soak tge rice for an hour.
  2. Grind the rice along with eggs and thin coconut milk.
  3. Powder sugar and cardamom .
  4. Add to the Grinded rice mixture.
  5. Mix in the thick coconut milk.
  6. Adjust the sweetness.
  7. Sieve it thrice using a fine colander.
  8. Steam for 30 minutes.
  9. Slice and serve once cooled.
