About BetterButter Chicken Recipe

Shallow fried chicken with creamy buttery gravy, ideal for dinner parties

BetterButter Chicken

Ingredients to make BetterButter Chicken

  • chicken 500gm
  • Milk 200 ml
  • poppy seeds (paste) 50gm
  • capsicum chopped 1 small piece
  • garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • ginger paste 1 tablespoon
  • onion paste 2 tablespoon
  • Green chili paste 1/2 tablespoon
  • Chopped onions 1 large piece
  • Black pepper 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala 1/2 tablespoon
  • salt
  • sugar
  • Refined oil
  • butter 2 tablespoon

How to make BetterButter Chicken

  1. Heat up 2 elaichi, 5-6 cardamom and 3 cloves in a dry pan, then cool it down and dust it to form garam masala.
  2. Cut the capsicum into small blocks and chop the onions.
  3. Add refined oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a pan and heat up.
  4. Add the chopped onions and capsicum and shallow fry it in the oil and butter.
  5. Add the chicken into it and keep on frying for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  6. Add the ginger, garlic, green chili and onion paste to it and cook before adding salt and sugar.
  7. Next add the poppy seed paste to it and keep stirring the whole thing.
  8. After few minutes add the milk and cook with a covered lid for 10 minutes in real mild flame.
  9. Next add black pepper powder, garam masala and remaining butter (1 tablespoon) to it and cook for 2 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with roti/paratha/rice.

My Tip:

Shallow fry the chicken and do not add any water to retain the taste and aroma of the butter.
