ABOUT MANGO STUFFED CHUM CHUM RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 ml milk
  2. 1 tsp white vinegar or lime juice
  3. 1/2 cup chopped mangoes
  4. 1 cup sugar
  5. 1/2 cup water
  6. 2 - 3 tbsp dessicated coconut
  7. 1 tbsp rose syrup

Instructions

  1. Place a saucepan with milk on the gas flame.
  2. Let one boil comes then switch off the gas
  3. Add vinegar
  4. Mix well , the milk will curdle and chenna is formed
  5. Strain the chenna in a muslin cloth and wash it properly , so that if any sourness of the vinegar is there it will go away , the cloth is kept on a big strainer above a big bowl
  6. Squeeze out the extra water from the chenna
  7. After keeping it for an hour it will become like this
  8. Take it out in a thali and crumble it with your hands
  9. Mash it with your palm for 5 - 7 minutes , until becomes smooth
  10. The mixture will become like dough
  11. Make equal sized balls from the dough , take chopped mangoes also
  12. Flatten one ball on your palm and put some chopped mangoes in the center
  13. Seal it properly from all the sides and give it a shape of a chum chum , round flat one
  14. In this way prepare all the chum chum
  15. On the meantime put sugar and water in a patila
  16. Place this on the gas to make sugar syrup
  17. Cook it on medium heat until it becomes of one string consistency
  18. Put the ready stuffed flat balls in the boiling sugar syrup
  19. After 15 minutes they will swell and come up , it means they are cooked
  20. After boiling with chum chum the syrup will become one and a half string consistency
  21. Let them cool down
  22. In a bowl add dessicated coconut and rose syrup
  23. And mix them well
  24. Now take out one chum chum and roll it in the coconut mixture
  25. It will stick on the chum chum
  26. Cut one piece from the center to see the stuffing
