Burmese two layer coconut jelly made with coconut milk and agar agar.This two layer jelly looks very beautiful.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. coconut milk 1 1/2 cup
  2. Agar agar strands 10 grams
  3. coconut water 1 cup
  4. sugar 1/4 cup + 1/4 cup


  1. For making coconut milk- Great fresh white part and blend it with 1 cup of water.
  2. Strain this milk with the help of muslim cloth and keep aside.
  3. Soak agar agar strands in 1 1/2 cup of water for 20 minutes.
  4. In a sauce pan boil soaked agar agar.Make sure it dissolve completely
  5. Make two eqaul parts of this dissolved agar agar liquid.
  6. In a saucepan add one part of agar agar liquid in coconut water with 1/4 cup of sugar,and boil it.
  7. When sugar dissolved completely switch off the gas.
  8. Pour it in the moulds.
  9. When moulds become room temperature keep it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  10. Now again in saucepan add another part of dissolved agar agar,1/4 cup of sugar and boil it.Dissolve sugar completely.
  11. At this point add coconut milk and just stir it and switch off the gas.
  12. Do not boil the mixture,(If you boil the milk will gets curdle)
  13. Now pour coconut milk mixture in the mold that we kept before in the refrigerator.Wait for 10 minutes.
  14. Now keep these mould in refrigerator again for 1 hour.
  15. Beautiful coconut jelly is ready.
