Mango and Coconut Poli

Ingredients to make Mango and Coconut Poli

  • For the Mango and coconut Poli filling:
  • 1 cup ripe mango cubed and pulped
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/4 tsp cardomom powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar (adjust sugar according to the sourness of the mangoes)
  • For the Dough:
  • 250 gram Fine flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Cold water to knead the dough
  • 1 tbsp oil

How to make Mango and Coconut Poli

  1. For the Mango and Coconut filling, take a pan. Add all the ingredients and on a low flame keep stirring the mixture till all the ingredients incorporate well.
  2. Take a small pinch of the filling and try to form a ball. If it forms a ball then take it off the heat and cool it and keep it aside.
  3. For the dough, take a bowl. Add the flour, salt and oil.
  4. Mix the flour. Add water and knead the semi - soft dough.
  5. Cover and keep for 30 minutes.
  6. To make the Poli, take the dough and make lemon size equal balls.
  7. Roll the dough. Add the filling in the dough.
  8. Close the edges of the dough with the filling inside.
  9. Add ghee and cook the Poli from both the sides.
  10. Roll the dough. Take a tawa. Put the rolled dough on the tawa.
  11. Once brown from both the side, serve it with mango cream.
