Delicious soya masala cooked in coconut milk with coconut masala

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 cups soya chunks
  2. 1 cup thick coconut milk
  3. 1 cup thin coconut milk
  4. Lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon
  5. 1 green chillies slit optional
  6. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  7. 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 10-12 curry leaves
  10. 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  11. 1 onion chopped finely
  12. 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  13. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  14. 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  15. 2 tbsp coconut oil
  16. To Roast and grind
  17. 3-4 dry red chilli
  18. 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  19. 6-7 curry leaves
  20. 1/3 cup grated coconut
  21. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  22. 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
  23. 1 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil, add all ingredients except coconut mentioned under roast and grind section. Roast until aromatic
  2. Add grated coconut and saute until golden brown. Allow to cool completely. Grind with water to form smooth paste
  3. Boil water with salt. Switch off. Add soya chunks. Rest for 20 minutes
  4. Drain and squeeze excess water. Keep it aside
  5. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds. Add onions and curry leaves. Saute until tender
  6. Add green chillies and ginger garlic paste. Saute until raw aroma goes away
  7. Add tomatoes and cook until tender
  8. Add ground paste and spice powders salt. Cook until oil starts leaving sides
  9. Add soya Chunks. Coat well with masala.add thin coconut milk. Bring to boil. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  10. Add lemon juice and mix well. Add thick coconut milk. Stir and switch off. Cover and rest for 20 minutes
  11. Serve hot with roti or appam
