This is a spicy curry. Can serve this with rice, naan, idli..etc

Mutton Potato Curry

Ingredients to make Mutton Potato Curry

  • 3/4 kg mutton.
  • 3 medium onion coarsely ground.
  • 6 medium ripe tomato puree.
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste.
  • 3 potatoes cubed to 1" pieces.
  • 2 tbsp each chopped mint and coriander leaves.
  • 1/2 tesp turmeric powder.
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chilli powder.
  • 3 tbsp corriander powder.
  • salt as per taste.
  • 1 tbsp pepper powder.
  • 10 whole cashew pieces soaked in 1/4 cup warm water.
  • Seasoning : 4 cloves,3 cardamom,1" bay leaf,1 tesp fennel seeds,1" piece Cinnamon stick.
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • water 1 cup

How to make Mutton Potato Curry

  1. Place cooker with oil on medium flame.
  2. Saute in the seasoning.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and coarsely ground onion,saute till light brown.
  4. Add tomato puree ,turmeric,chilli, coriander powder and salt.
  5. Mix well let simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Add coriander leaves,mint leaves ,mutton and potatoes.
  7. Stir to mix all, add water and cook for 4 to 5 whistels, or till mutton is soft.
  8. Remove from flame and once the pressure has subsidised open the lid,place back on low flame.
  9. Make a paste of the cashew and add it to the curry along with pepper powder.
  10. Let simmer for 5 to 6 minutes.
  11. Remove serve hot with rice ,naan, idli....

My Tip:

Increase pepper powder for more spiciness.
