Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups instant oats
  2. 3/4 cup or more curd
  3. 1/2 cup rice flour
  4. salt to taste
  5. 3/4 teaspoon peppercorns
  6. 2 green chillies finely chopped
  7. 6-7 curry leaves finely chopped
  8. 1/2 onion finely chopped
  9. 1 inch ginger finely chopped
  10. oil for frying


  1. Grind oats to powder and transfer to mixing bowl
  2. Add rice flour, onions, peppercorns, salt, curry leaves, ginger green chillies and mix
  3. Add required curd to form tight dough
  4. Wet your palms, make lemon sized balls , flatten and shape like Vada
  5. Deep fry until golden brown over medium heat
  6. Drain excess oil
  7. Serve hot with sambar or chutney
