Homemade delicious sweet butter bread.

Flower butter bread

Ingredients to make Flower butter bread

  • For dough-
  • APF 2cups
  • Melted butter 3tbsp
  • Warm milk 1/4 cup or as needed
  • Vanilla Essence 1tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • yeast 1/2tbsp
  • For sugarbutter-
  • Unsalted butter 2/3cup(150gm) @room temp
  • Powdered sugar 5tbsp or more according to taste
  • Milk 5-6tbsp for milk wash
  • Melted butter 4-5tbsp for applying after bake

How to make Flower butter bread

  1. Mix yeast and sugar with warm water. Keep covered few mins or until frothy.
  2. Take a large bowl, mix flour, salt, melted butter, yeast mixture, vanilla essence and warm milk.
  3. Knead until the dough is smooth.
  4. Coat with oil, cover and keep aside for 1-2hours.
  5. Mix butter and sugar in a bowl. Keep chill in the refrigerator till needed.
  6. The dough will be double by size after 1-2hours.
  7. Make 6 equal balls out of it.
  8. Take one dough and roll into thin rectangular /square.
  9. Repeat for rest of the balls. Cover all with cloth.
  10. Take one rectangular/square dough. Smear butter mixture over this evenly.
  11. Cover with another thin dough. Stretch out the thin dough to cover the butter.
  12. Repeat the process.
  13. For the last layer, smooth the surface with a rolling pin.
  14. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 30-60minutes.
  15. Smooth the dough and cut into rectangle or square. Mine is a rectangle.
  16. Use the remaining dough for different shapes.
  17. Cut the dough into 8pieces.
  18. Take one small rectangle dough and cut diagonally to become a triangle.
  19. Fold the triangle to shape like petals.
  20. Repeat the same process for all.
  21. Arrange the petals to make a flower.
  22. Milk wash. (Or egg wash)
  23. Preheat oven for 10mins at 180C.
  24. Put on a greased baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  25. Take out and apply butter.
  26. Serve warm.

My Tip:

You can use butter and garlic for a savoury bread.
