ABOUT Mutton kosha ( mutton Cooked with spices) RECIPE

Mutton kosha is famous in bengalis.this is basically mutton cooked with various spices in a low flame without water.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500g mutton
  2. 2midium onions
  3. Ginger garlic paste 2tbsp
  4. 1/2cup yogurt
  5. 1tsp chilli powder
  6. 1tsp turmeric powder
  7. 1bay leaf
  8. Whole garam masala 2pcs each
  9. 1tsp garam masala powder
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 2tsp sugar
  12. 1tbsp ghee
  13. 2-3 pcs garlic
  14. 1/2inch whole ginger

Instructions

  1. Firstly marinate mutton with yogurt,Gingergarlic paste,keep it for 1-2hrs.
  2. Make a paste of onion, Gingergarlic and tomatoes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan,add whole garam masala, bay leaf,and sugar.
  4. Add the paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder.mix it well.cook it till the oil comes out from the sides of the spices.
  5. Add marinated mutton, then lil bit of water, green chillies,Salt to taste.
  6. Now transfer it to a pressure cooker and whistles 7-8or till the mutton is tender.
  7. Add ghee and garam masala powder on top. Serve it with luchi or paratha.
