ABOUT Mushroom khirri RECIPE

People of Odisha love kheer. We call it in odia "khirri". It is apt for all occasions like festivals, happy moments. We leave no chance to cook khirri. Today, I have decided to cook khirri with a twist by using milk , sugar , gobindvog rice , cardamom , little ghee , nuts and mushrooms. It is very yummy and has a creamy texture and am sure everyone will love it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Milk 3 cups
  2. Sugar 3tbsp + 1tsp
  3. Green Cardamom 2 nos
  4. Mushroom 6 nos chopped
  5. Ghee 1 tsp + 1 tsp
  6. Gobindvog rice 2 tbsp
  7. Cashew nuts and raisins 5+5 nos
  8. Mushroom 1 slice for decorations

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the mushrooms and heat a pan, add ghee and fry the mushrooms for one minute.
  2. Take another bowl heat the milk with cardamom and rice and then cook it. Now add the mushrooms.
  3. Then add sugar, cashew nuts and raisins and cook in low flame, reduce the milk to half .
  4. Ensure the rice and mushrooms is well cooked, For decorations heat a pan with little ghee and 1 tsp sugar, add sliced mushrooms, and cook it till it turns caramelized then decorate the khirri, serve hot or cold .
