About Tamarind rice Recipe

Made using leftover rice

Tamarind rice

Ingredients to make Tamarind rice

  • Leftover rice
  • tamarind extract 50 ml
  • salt
  • Sesame oil 4 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves
  • asafoetida
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder ,1/2 tsp
  • chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli 2
  • urad dal 1 tsp
  • Channa dal 1 tsp
  • onion 1

How to make Tamarind rice

  1. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, curry leaves, cumin seeds, onion, red chilli and fry it
  2. Add urad dal, chana dal and fry it
  3. Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, tamarind extract and cook for 10 min on low flame
  4. Switch off the flame when oil separate from sides
  5. Add leftover rice and mix well
