About Chicken Dak Bungalow Recipe

Chicken dak bungalow is a very famous Indian dish, it comes with whole boiled egg and potatoes in it.

Chicken Dak Bungalow

Ingredients to make Chicken Dak Bungalow

  • chicken 750gm
  • 3 Boiled egg
  • 5 small whole potatoes
  • 2big onions
  • garlic paste 2tsp
  • ginger paste 1 1/2tsp
  • tomato 1(medium)
  • Thick yogurt 1 1/2tb sp
  • coriander powder 1 1/2tsp
  • cumin powder 1tsp
  • cinnamon 1 1/2inch
  • Green cardamoms 4-5
  • cloves 4-5
  • bay leaves -2
  • green chillies as per taste
  • turmeric Powder
  • chilli powder
  • Kashmiri chilli powder
  • coriander leaves
  • Salt and sugar as per taste
  • oil for cooking
  • ghee 1tsp

How to make Chicken Dak Bungalow

  1. Dry roast 1/2inch cinnamon, 2 cardamom, 2cloves and keep it aside.
  2. Wash and clean the chicken pieces very well.
  3. Take a bowl and marinate the chicken with yogurt for an hour.
  4. Take a heavy bottom pan , heat oil, put 1/2tsp turmeric powder and fry the boiled eggs, Keep it aside
  5. In the same oil fry the potatoes (peeled and washed) till golden.
  6. In the same pan add some fresh oil. Heat oil , add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves and saute for 30sec.
  7. Add chopped onions and fry till golden brown. Now add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and saute for a minute.
  8. Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder , kashmiri chili powder, 1/2tspn salt and saute them for 4-5min on low flame.
  9. Add marinated chicken , mix well with masala. Put the lid on and cook for 6-7min on medium low flame.
  10. Add some salt and mix well. Cook the chicken in it's own juice untill oil separate (medium flame)
  11. Add the fried potatoes , mix well.
  12. Add some hot water and cover the pan. Cook for few minutes.
  13. Add fried eggs and cook.,
  14. Add roasted garam masala powder, sugar(as per taste) and chopped coriander, ghee.
  15. Check the seasoning and adjust accordingly.
