AlooTikki_Chole_Chaat is a delicious appetizing Party Starter, relished by people all over India. Different variants of this chaat are being made, and here i have made aloo tikkis accompanied by white chick peas , curd and chutneys. Its truly loved by people of all age groups.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potato 5 boiled
  2. Besan 150 g
  3. chaat masala 1 teaspoon
  4. Green chillies 2chopped
  5. Red chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  6. Jeera powder 1 teaspoon
  7. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  8. salt as per taste
  9. Vegetable oil 2 tablespoon
  10. Accompaniments ingredients
  11. Curd 2 tablespoon beaten .
  12. Mint chutney 2 tablespoons
  13. Tamarind chutney 2 tablespoons
  14. Onion 1 for garnishing
  15. Tomato 1 for garnishing
  16. Coriander leaves 20g for garnishing
  17. Beet root grated for garnishing
  18. Ingredients for chole
  19. White chick peas 200 g
  20. Turmeric 1 teaspoon
  21. heeng a pinch
  22. Salt as per taste.

Instructions

  1. Let us make tikkis first .Take preboiled peeled potatoes and mash them .
  2. Mix besan , salt , red chilly powder , green chillies chopped , coriander powder , cumin powder , chaat masala and mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Now make small balls and flatten them into tikkis with your palms ..
  4. Take a non sticking pan , add little oil , keep it on a medium flame ..
  5. Shallow fry all the tikkis carefully till one side becomes golden brown .Flip the other side carefully and make this also golden brown ..
  6. Like this shallow fry all the tikkis . You will get a nutty aroma of besan while frying ..
  7. The tikkis are very crispy with addition of besan ..keep them aside.
  8. Meanwhile boil the presoaked white chick peas by adding heeng and turmeric powder (optional) and little salt .on a medium flame for 20 minutes.
  9. After 20 minutes your chanas are ready..Open the lid and Mash the chanas little with a masher ..keep it aside for cooling ..
  10. Now for seving .. The tikkis should be hot but chanas poured over the tikkis should not be steaming hot ..
  11. So serve the tikkis with these chole topped over , or aside along with curd , mint green chutney , tamarind chutney .
  12. Garnish the tikkichaat with onions cut in the form of thin rings , tomatoes chopped along with grated or juliens of beet root.
  13. Garnish with green coriander leaves .
  14. Enjoy my chole aloo tikki tamater onion chaat as a party snack.
