ABOUT Boozy Gulab Nut RECIPE

Gulab Nut is a fusion of Gulab Jamun and Donut . Another twist is this Gulab nut is soaked in Boozy Rum instead of our regular sugar syrup. I got this idea from my brother and just gave a try with no clue of how would it turn . Voila ! Was a superhit. Topped these boozy Gulab nuts with fresh pista cream . So why are you even delaying ? This recipe is not for children . Strictly an adult recipe .

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Gulab Jamun mix 2 cups
  2. Semolina powder 3 tablespoons
  3. Powdered sugar 2 tablespoons
  4. Milk 1 cup or as required
  5. Cooking oil 1 cup for shallow frying
  6. Chilled rum 4 cups
  7. Cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
  8. For pista cream :
  9. Unsalted pistachios 1.5 cups
  10. Whipped cream 1 cup or as required
  11. Powdered sugar 2 tablespoons 1

Instructions

  1. Firstly soak semolina powder in 1/4 cup warm milk . Leave it until sooji looks soft .
  2. Take gulab jamun instant mix in a wide bowl.
  3. Add powdered sugar .
  4. Add sooji milk to it .
  5. Mix . Add milk gradually to form a soft dough.
  6. Cover and rest dough for 10 minutes.
  7. After 10 minutes, divide dough into medium sized balls , bigger than the actual gulab jamun size .
  8. Now take each ball , press gently between palms , give a shape of donuts . Make a small hole in the centre .
  9. Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying . Use generous oil for the best texture .
  10. Shallow fry in low heat until all sides look golden brown just like regular gulab jamuns .
  11. In another container, pour chilled rum.
  12. Add cardamom powder to the rum.
  13. Drop the hot gulab nuts in the rum .
  14. Let them sit for minimum 1 hour . For the best result soak gulab nuts in rum for 8 to 9 hours .
  15. While serving , prepare pista cream .
  16. Blend pistachios, sugar powder with required whipped cream and grind to a thick smooth cream .
  17. Pista cream is ready .
  18. When serving , sandwhich pista cream between2 gulab nuts . Fill the centre with pista cream.
  19. Boozy Gulab Nut is ready .
  20. Serve chilled .
